Basketball Recap: Platte Valley Piles Up the Points Against Skyview Academy + How To Watch

Platte Valley put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 53-17 win over the SkyView Academy Hawks. The Broncos pushed the score to 44-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks had little chance of recovering from.

Platte Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryla Bunting, who posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Bunting has posted since back in January. Addy Grossnickle was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and five assists.

Platte Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evelyn Gilbert, who had four points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals. Gilbert is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Platte Valley's record now sits at 3-0. As for SkyView Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Platte Valley will square off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. SkyView Academy will take on Colorado Springs Christian in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th.
