Basketball Game Preview: Warden Cougars vs. Granger Spartans

The Warden Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Granger Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Warden is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Warden challenged Tri-Cities Prep on Tuesday. Warden had to suffer through a 74-40 loss at the hands of Tri-Cities Prep. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Jaguars are ranked 40th).

Granger has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by Columbia and fell 74-38. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Warden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Granger, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Warden beat Granger 49-40 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warden since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
