Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. El Camino Wildcats

For the second straight game, Mt. Carmel will face off against El Camino. The Sundevils will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Carmel's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so El Camino's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mt. Carmel fell victim to El Camino and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The Sundevils' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

For El Camino's part, the result came thanks to Zane Nordquist's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. Nordquist has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Stelzer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for El Camino, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
