Soccer Game Preview: Durham vs. Maxwell

Durham is 0-6 against Maxwell since January of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Trojans will take on the Panthers at 3:15 p.m. Durham will be strutting in after a victory while Maxwell will be coming in after a defeat.

Durham took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Shasta Charter Academy, sneaking past 5-4. Considering Durham's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Maxwell fell victim to Hamilton and their airtight defense last Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Braves. While losing is never fun, Maxwell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1088th, while Hamilton are ranked 477th).

Durham's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Maxwell, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Durham might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Maxwell when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
