Basketball Recap: Shoals Christian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Shoals Christian won the last time they faced Cherokee, and Sarah Davis (2025) did her part to make sure it happened again. The Shoals Christian Flame enjoyed a cozy 52-37 victory over the Cherokee Indians on Thursday thanks in part to Davis (2025), who dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 11 boards, and 14 steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Shoals Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Owen, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Shoals Christian's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Cherokee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Waterloo the next time they take the court. Cherokee will head out to face Waterloo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Shoals Christian will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
