Baseball Recap: Burke Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Burke had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Omaha South Packers by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Packers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Burke saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Holland, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Those two runs gave Holland a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burke will challenge rival Columbus at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Omaha South is set to take on their familiar foe Benson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
