Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Hagerstown Tigers

The Centerville Bulldogs will face off against the Hagerstown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Centerville came out on top against Oldenburg Academy on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Twisters with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Twisters recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jacob Alford looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Landen Schlotterbeck was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Centerville is 2-1 when Schlotterbeck posts three or more hits, but 1-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Lear, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hagerstown was able to grind out a solid victory over Jay County on Saturday, taking the game 7-4.

Hagerstown's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Centerville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.
