League recap: Mack breaks off league-leading run for Riverside

Riverside's Hardell Mack recorded the longest rushing play in 2A District 10 this season in his game against St. James last week. Mack ran for 62 yards on the play and finished with 85 on the day as his team defeated the Wildcats.

Newman extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wright, 53-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Greenies.

Derek Robinson was a passing and rushing force as Wright lost to Newman. He completed 20 passes for 208 yards and also ran for 59 yards. Robinson's favorite target this week was Daijon Landry, who caught 10 passes for 103 yards.

Deuce Wallace threw for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 20-29 with 1 interception.

Xavier Ray made the biggest impact on defense this week as Riverside bested St. James. The 5-foot-10 defensive back.

Wallace put up the best numbers through the air as Bill Stubbs' team defeated Dwain Jenkins' team. Wallace's favorite target this week was Herb McGee, who caught 9 passes for 90 yards.

Riverside's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wallace has thrown for 947 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while McGee has 27 catches for 437 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Nelson Stewart's team takes on Carver. As it stands, the Greenies are in first, while the Rams are in third.

Carver was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 2A District 10. Earlier in the week, Byron Addison's team triumphed over Fisher 72-0.
