Softball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Augusta can now relate to. They lost 11-3 to the McDonell Central Macks on Tuesday. The Beavers haven't had much luck with the Macks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Augusta saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haley Strauch, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Another was Cecelia Schroeder, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for McDonell Central, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-6-1.

Augusta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McDonell Central, they will face off against Grantsburg on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Macks 3.1, the Pirates 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
