Softball Game Preview: Clarkdale Bulldogs vs. Bay Springs Bulldogs

Clarkdale has gone 8-2 against Bay Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Clarkdale and seven for Bay Springs dating back to last season.

Clarkdale came up short against Sebastopol on Monday, falling 15-8.

Anne Larkin Vollor was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Read, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bay Springs scored the most runs they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Richton by a score of 12-11.

Clarkdale's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Bay Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went Clarkdale's way against Bay Springs in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Clarkdale made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clarkdale since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
