Basketball Recap: River Islands Takes a Loss

River Islands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the East Union Lancers, falling 81-56. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Riptide of the 66-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, River Islands still got an impressive performance from Darius Radoc Factoran, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Basurto, who posted seven points along with six assists and six boards.

River Islands' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for East Union, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

River Islands has already played their next matchup, a 65-40 victory against El Dorado on the 10th. East Union and Bear Creek will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
