Benjamin Russell wins going away against Valley

Recap: Benjamin Russell Wildcats vs. Valley Rams

The Valley Rams typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Benjamin Russell Wildcats proved too difficult a challenge. Benjamin Russell took down Valley 35-19. Winning may never get old, but Benjamin Russell sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Benjamin Russell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cederian Morgan led the charge by picking up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Morgan was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 65 yards. Gabriel Benton also helped out by tossing the rock for 293 yards.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cam?ron Dooley, who threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Dooley hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Thomas, who picked up 64 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Benjamin Russell pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Calera and 1-9 Smiths Station (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.6% over those games). As for Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Benjamin Russell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Valley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rain at 8:00 p.m. Rain is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
