Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest Cabarrus). They breezed past the South Rowan Raiders to the tune of 44-13 on Friday. With the Trojans ahead 38-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Northwest Cabarrus was led to victory by Titus Troy and Hudson Irwin. Troy rushed for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, while Irwin threw for 114 yards and two TDs. That's the most passing touchdowns Irwin has posted since back in October of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Northwest Cabarrus' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Zack Riddle, Malachi Norris, and Domenic Baker, who each picked up one sack apiece. Northwest Cabarrus got some further help from Riddle: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

South Rowan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Arthur, who rushed for 87 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Northwest Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South Rowan, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.
