Basketball Game Preview: Basha Bears vs. Perry Pumas

Basha hasn't had much luck against Perry recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Basha Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Pumas at 5:30 p.m. Basha is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Basha turned things around against Casteel on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 68-65 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Basha found their leader in freshman Amira Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Reynolds also set a new season-high mark in blocks with four. Grace Beckler was another key player, putting up eight points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over Chandler on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Pumas have posted since December 7, 2024.

Perry has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Basha, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-9.

Basha came up short against Perry when the teams last played on January 10th, falling 62-57. Can Basha avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
