Volleyball Recap: Dove Creek Comes Up Short

Dove Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Nucla Mustangs, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Dove Creek took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-21, 26-24.

Among those leading the charge was Maggie Andrews, who had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave her a new career-high.

Dove Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Nucla, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Dove Creek has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Ignacio on the 20th. As for Nucla, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Monticello on the 11th.
