Basketball Game Preview: Sabino Sabercats vs. Snowflake Lobos

The Sabino Sabercats will face off against the Snowflake Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sabino knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 matches -- so hopefully Snowflake likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Sabino earned an 87-79 win over ALA - West Foothills. Given the Sabercats' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Guardians are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Snowflake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sabercats 67-37.

Snowflake pushed their record up to 17-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Sabino, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
