Recap: Round Valley Elks vs. Hopi Bruins

In what's become a running theme this season, the Round Valley Elks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Hopi 63-22 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-12.

Leading Round Valley to victory were Brenli Haws and Kelci Walker. Haws scored 21 points along with six rebounds, while Walker dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Walker hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Harli Haws, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Round Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Hopi, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Round Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Holbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Holbrook is ranked 116th, while Round Valley is ranked 93rd). As for Hopi, they will head out on the road to square off against Pinon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pinon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 last Saturday.
