Volleyball Preview: Bemidji Lumberjacks vs. Brainerd Warriors

After ten games on the road, Bemidji is heading back home. They will welcome the Brainerd Warriors at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but likely not for long.

On Friday, Bemidji came up short against River Falls and fell 2-0.

While Bemidji ultimately came up short, they really made River Falls work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Brainerd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Detroit Lakes.

While Brainerd had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 16-25, 25-21, 25-19.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Evelyn Hagen, who had nine digs and 26 assists. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Garding, who had 16 digs.

Bemidji has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Brainerd, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
