Basketball Recap: Notre Dame de Sion Gets the Win

Notre Dame de Sion hadn't done well against Lee's Summit North recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Notre Dame de Sion Storm managed a 52-48 victory over the Lee's Summit North Broncos. For the Storm, this counts as revenge for the 49-44 win the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Notre Dame de Sion had a senior duo take command as Abby Wendte posted 16 points in addition to six assists and five steals and Taelyn Smith almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most assists Wendte has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Sydney Blaine, who put up nine points.

Notre Dame de Sion's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lee's Summit North, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Notre Dame de Sion will take on De Soto in a tournament on Thursday. Notre Dame de Sion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. As for Lee's Summit North, they will host Bolivar at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th.
