Basketball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello was the 63-47 winner over Goochland when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Monticello Mustangs fell 56-49 to the Goochland Bulldogs on Friday.

Monticello has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Goochland, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monticello will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against William Monroe at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Goochland, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Altavista at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
