Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Faith Ugoje and Hidayah Meadows Lead Narbonne to Victory

Narbonne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 52.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 27-20 win over the Gahr Gladiators. This was payback for the Gauchos, who suffered a 12-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Narbonne was led to victory by Hidayah Meadows and Faith Ugoje. Meadows picked up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Ugoje picked up 52 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Meadows showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 58 yards.

Another reason for the win was Narbonne's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. Shayla Rivera and Sadiya Sandu were the leaders of the group effort as each produced four apiece. Meadows got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Narbonne's record now sits at 7-3. As for Gahr, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.

Coincidentally, Narbonne and Gahr will both be playing Lakewood the next time they take the field. The Gauchos will head out to face the Lancers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Gladiators will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
