The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will head out to challenge the Ridgeview Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
St. Joseph Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bishop Kenny, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Flashes were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Crusaders on Friday. Considering the Flashes have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Garrison Wade and Sean Miskowiec made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Wade struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Miskowiec pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Wade has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wade went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Miskowiec went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Dayton Taylor was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Eli Robshaw was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Ridgeview scored first but ultimately less than Menendez in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-6. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
James Norton was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ridgeview is 2-1 when Norton posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise.
St. Joseph Academy pushed their record up to 17-4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
St. Joseph Academy took their win against Ridgeview in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flashes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
