Emmetsburg extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 1 this week by beating Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, 42-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the E'Hawks.
Western Christian made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,209 from 9,629. The improvement came about via a 29-7 victory over Gehlen Catholic last week.
Okoboji's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan Hanna has thrown for 601 yards and one touchdown this season, while Keaton Jones has 11 catches for 157 yards. Gabe Goehring leads the league in rushing with 163 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Emmetsburg takes on South O'Brien. Mike Dunlap's team has allowed 102 points this season, while the Wolverines have given up 76.
The E'Hawks led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Hawks.
