Basketball Recap: Tuscola Comes Up Short

Tuscola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Pisgah Bears, falling 72-45. The Mountaineers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Tuscola lost, don't look at Ace Rogers. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Ferguson, who earned 11 points.

Pisgah was led to victory by Mason Putnam and Dominick Messer. Putnam went 9 for 14 en route to 21 points and five rebounds, while Messer dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Clark, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Tuscola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Pisgah, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Tuscola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-80 loss against Smoky Mountain on the 14th. As for Pisgah, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-48 defeat against East Henderson on the 14th.
