Baseball Recap: Crestview Takes a Loss

Crestview was the 7-0 winner over West Florida when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Crestview took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Florida on Friday.

Charley Middlebrooks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Cooper Cantrell was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Crestview has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. The win made it two in a row for West Florida and bumps their season record up to 14-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Florida beat Crestview by a score of 7-3 later that day.
