Elmore County is 9-1 against Marbury since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Elmore County Panthers will square off against the Marbury Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Elmore County will bounce into Monday's game after beating Montgomery Catholic, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Elmore County blew past Montgomery Catholic 13-3 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Elmore County let Addison Hicks and Kayden Edwards run wild. Hicks scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Edwards went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. What's more, Edwards posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abigail Holt, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Marbury had just enough and edged out Calera 5-4 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Elizabeth Woodfin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Brooklan Popwell was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hays, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Marbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calera only posted an OBP of .281.

The win got Marbury back to even at 1-1. As for Elmore County, their record now sits at 2-0.

Elmore County skirted past Marbury 10-9 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elmore County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
