Baseball Recap: Cedar Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and Cedar Ridge had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Reagan Rattlers 9-3 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sawyer Neugent spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cedar Ridge got a big performance out of Riggs Gordon, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Gordon has posted since back in March of 2025. Jake Shoemaker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Cedar Ridge's third in a row) raised their record to 22-11-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Reagan, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-12.

Cedar Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rattlers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
