Volleyball Recap: Makenzie Sellers Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Mount Vernon

There's no place like home for Fellowship Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mount Vernon Mustangs on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Paladins as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Fellowship Christian easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-20.

Fellowship Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Sellers, who had ten digs and five assists. Those ten digs gave Sellers a new career-high.

Fellowship Christian's victory bumped their record up to 28-11. As for Mount Vernon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-19.

Coming up, Fellowship Christian will head out on the road to square off against Sprayberry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Vernon, they will be playing at home against Prince Avenue Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
