Cave Spring and Salem are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Knights will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cave Spring fell victim to Pulaski County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Salem put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lord Botetourt 12-2. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Salem pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Cave Spring, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Cave Spring came out on top in a nail-biter against Salem in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
