Basketball Recap: Charlotte Comes Up Short

Charlotte played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 56-17 loss at the hands of the Lansing Christian Pilgrims. While losing is never fun, the Orioles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Pilgrims are ranked 222nd).

Despite the loss, Charlotte saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Peyton Howarth posted 11 points.

Charlotte's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lansing Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Charlotte has already played their next game (against Ionia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lansing Christian is taking a road trip to square off against Bath at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lansing Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
