Basketball Recap: Legend Reynoso Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

There's no place like home for Payson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over the Provo Bulldogs on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 74-61 back in January.

Payson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Legend Reynoso out in front who went 6 for 7 en route to 16 points. Reynoso's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kade Jenson, who posted ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Payson was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Provo only posted nine assists.

Makai Allen and Lucas Castagnetto certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Allen went 10 of 18 on his way to 25 points and four steals, while Castagnetto almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Castagnetto a new career-high in steals (six).

Payson's record is now 14-5. As for Provo, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Payson has already played their next contest, a 56-52 victory against Timpanogos on the 31st. As for Provo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-66 win against Uintah on the 31st.
