Baseball Recap: Everett Alvarez Comes Up Short

Everett Alvarez lost against Stevenson back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Tyler Victoriano was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Matt Lopez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Everett Alvarez and nudges their season record down to 7-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Stevenson, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Everett Alvarez by a score of 13-3 on Friday.
