Basketball Recap: J.P. Stevens Falls to South Brunswick in First Game of Season

J.P. Stevens unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The matchup between them and the South Brunswick Vikings didn't end well, with the J.P. Stevens Hawks falling 54-39. The Hawks were probably out for revenge after losing 52-44 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

South Brunswick's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

J.P. Stevens won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Old Bridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Brunswick, they will be home for the holidays to greet Sayreville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
