Recap: Parrish Community Bulls vs. Manatee Hurricanes
The Parrish Community Bulls are still undefeated this season after their match against the Manatee Hurricanes on Friday, but the Manatee Hurricanes came as close as anyone has to beating them. Parrish Community narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Manatee 61-59. Given Parrish Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Manatee is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Parrish Community's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malakai Cuffy led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 8 assists and 3 steals. The match was Cuffy's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Dylan Higgins was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Parrish Community has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Manatee, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parrish Community's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Riverview Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on December 4th. Hopefully Riverview Sarasota focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. Manatee and Booker will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Booker comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
