Softball Recap: North Pitt Panthers vs. J.H. Rose Rampants
North Pitt extended their losing streak to 11 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-17 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the J.H. Rose Rampants. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rampants from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for J.H. Rose, their record is now 10-8. The result was nothing new for the Rampants, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.
For J.H. Rose's part, Santana Sneed was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Sneed has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aniyah Hardy, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Riley Shaw was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, North Pitt will take on Farmville Central in a tournament on Monday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for J.H. Rose, they will be taking part in a tournament against South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
