Basketball Recap: Streamwood's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Streamwood's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Marengo Indians by a score of 56-48. The victory was some much needed relief for the Sabres as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Streamwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Byron Walton, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance also gave Walton a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Payton Clements, who posted seven points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Streamwood's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Marengo, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Streamwood has already played their next game, a 63-57 loss against Larkin on the 7th. As for Marengo, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Johnsburg at 6:45 p.m. on January 14th. Marengo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
