Baseball Recap: Firebaugh Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lynwood last Friday, Firebaugh came back down to earth. The Falcons lost 28-5 to the Mayfair Monsoons on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 25, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Firebaugh saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Ramirez, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Julian Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mayfair, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

While Firebaugh had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
