Recap: Loomis Wolves vs. Alma Cardinals

There's no place like home for the Loomis Wolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Alma with a 55-50 win on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Loomis also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.

Tyson Essex was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cale Nelson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.

Alma's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Titus Epp, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Epp scored 15 or more points. Jakin Neal was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Loomis has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Alma, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.

Loomis will head out on the road to square off against Franklin at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Alma will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southern Valley at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
