Softball Recap: Cobre Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cobre walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dexter Demons 5-4. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on six straight.

Bella Saiz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayvah Ortiz was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Isis Dominguez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Cobre's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Dexter, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 26-4.

As of now, neither Cobre nor the Demons have any future games scheduled.
