Preview: Adelson vs. GV Christian Guardians
Adelson is on a five-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), GV Christian a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Adelson will take on the GV Christian Guardians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Adelson suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Needles, falling 80-23. Adelson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-13.
Meanwhile, GV Christian's 21-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They had to suffer through a rough 63-30 loss at the hands of Needles. While losing is never fun, GV Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 91st in Nevada, while Needles is ranked 14th in California).
Adelson has fallen quite a ways from their 11-5 record last season and are now at 1-9. As for GV Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Adelson was taken down by GV Christian 51-12 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of GV Christian's Nick Madsen, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
