Softball Game Preview: Adams Central Flying Jets vs. Homestead Spartans

The Adams Central Flying Jets are taking a road trip to take on the Homestead Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Adams Central has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

While Adams Central's win against New Haven wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Flying Jets skirted past the Bulldogs 13-12. The Flying Jets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Izzy Isch, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lillee Dull, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Adams Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Homestead suffered their closest loss since May 6, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Carroll by a score of 4-2. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Jordan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Adams Central's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Adams Central might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Homestead in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Flying Jets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
