Basketball Recap: Kirnique Swales Key Part of Team Effort in Braves Win

Chopticon won the last time they faced Calvert and things went their way on Friday too. The Chopticon Braves took down the Calvert Cavaliers 33-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chopticon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kirnique Swales, who posted 11 points.

Calvert's loss came despite strong showings from Amani Welch and Brooke Kidwell. Welch scored 12 points, while Kidwell earned a point along with seven rebounds, four blocks, and three steals. Kidwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Chopticon pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points over those games. As for Calvert, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Chopticon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-46 win against La Plata on the 14th. As for Calvert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 39-33 victory against Patuxent on the 10th.
