Basketball Recap: Windsor Academy Knights vs. Strong Rock Christian Patriots
The Windsor Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Strong Rock Christian. Windsor Academy lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-17 score last time.
Windsor Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyndall Bowen, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That was a full 43.2% of Windsor Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Dobson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Strong Rock Christian found their leader in underclassman Ava Norsworthy, who scored 27 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Norsworthy scored 15 or more points. Addison Stone was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Windsor Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Strong Rock Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
Windsor Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Strong Rock Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brookstone is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
