Baseball Recap: Southmoreland Takes a Loss

Southmoreland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-4 to the Deer Lakes Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 last Monday.

Jake Govern made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Southmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Deer Lakes, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Southmoreland will take on Greensburg Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deer Lakes, they will square off against Mt. Pleasant at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
