Desert hasn't had much luck against Rosamond recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Scorpions will venture away from home to take on the Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. Rosamond took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Desert, who comes in off a win.
Desert will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Mammoth, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Scorpions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Huskies an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Scorpions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Not much got past Landon Kizzer, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Mammoth off the board. Kizzer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Evan Dion was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Elijah Warfield was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rosamond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Kern Valley, falling 14-2.
Shawn Webb was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Webb wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Pope Herdnandez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Rosamond's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Desert, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Desert has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Rosamond struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Desert suffered a grim 18-10 defeat to Rosamond when the teams last played back in April. Can the Scorpions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
