Baseball Recap: Richmond's Undefeated Season over After 19 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Richmond can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Dominic Saints by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Bobcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the ten matches prior), but the Saints' pitchers proved too tough.

Kenny Mecham was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Richmond fell to 18-1. As for St. Dominic, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Richmond does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Dominic, they will challenge Bangor Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight.
