Basketball Game Preview: Christian Heritage Academy Lions vs. Beacon Academy Trailblazers

The Christian Heritage Academy Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Beacon Academy Trailblazers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Christian Heritage Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Morgan Park Academy on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Christian Heritage Academy was beaten by Morgan Park Academy 86-47.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Charles Van Tuinen, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Acres, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Beacon Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat British International School of Chicago 58-26. The Trailblazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 26 points or more this season.

Beacon Academy pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Christian Heritage Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Christian Heritage Academy was dealt a bruising 58-30 defeat at the hands of Beacon Academy when the teams last played back in February. Can Christian Heritage Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
