Baseball Recap: Granada Find Success

Granada was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against James Logan on Friday. The Granada Matadors' pitchers stepped up to hand the James Logan Colts a 6-0 shutout. The Matadors haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Logan Robinson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mikey Boyd, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Granada hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James Logan struck out seven times.

The victory got Granada back to even at 1-1. As for James Logan, their record is now 0-2.

Coming up, Granada is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge College Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for James Logan, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Foothill at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something James Logan surely won't give up without a fight.
