Baseball Preview: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Covenant Christian Warriors
Heritage Christian hasn't had much luck against Covenant Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Heritage Christian's victory against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 5-3. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Covenant Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Beech Grove, sneaking past 5-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won four matches in a row.
Gabe Unger and Henry Boyce made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Unger tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Boyce pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
