Football Game Preview: Joaquin Rams vs. Garrison Bulldogs

The Joaquin Rams will face off against the Garrison Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Joaquin is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Friday, Joaquin got the win against Shelbyville by a conclusive 34-10. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Trenton Runnels looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 63 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Runnels was just one part of a punishing run game: Joaquin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Garrison hadn't done well against Timpson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs strolled past the Bears with points to spare, taking the game 30-14.

Garrison's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Joaquin, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-3.

Joaquin suffered a grim 34-8 defeat to Garrison in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bulldogs' Avery Yarbrough, who rushed for 108 yards and one TD.
